Even as they ask you to join
they’ll stop you at the gate—
turn you away
shoving papers of authenticity
in your face
they say—
no, go away!
Half good/ no good
no place here
unless holy white
no dirty mixed breeds
or half-breeds
allowed inside
but, we’ll take your ticket
now go!
Your money is wasted—
they've taken you for a ride
your name is foreign
to their blind eyes.
