Saturation #Poetry

saturation comes in quiet realizations

blanketing the soul you left behind, in haste,

on annunciations of your lack of caring,

of giving a shit,

about the effect it had on you,

to jolt you like a

wicked bolt of lightning,

into a wreckless oblivion

a mainlining of pure rage,

into your veins, then lost

to that perpetual joke of a chase,

of the good life. hell-

the saturation blessed you,

it pummeled into you,

an existence of god. in your way,

slow, steady, feeling the pain,

not by happenstance, by southwest by 66

but by love, it saturated you like a slow-moving train,

an experience of electric shooting into me a wave

of enlightenment saturating my brain,

unlike all those moments

i neglected to care for,

back in the day.

These three lines speak directly to me! I want to appreciate everything, from the small to the big, but often the moments that matter most are the ones we neglect and look back upon. Love the way you express that so perfectly here.

Glib? Hmmm maybe I missed that, but oh well life makes a man that way at times, I know that for sure! Thank you for your feedback. I truly enjoy are meetings here, in this world we share. Regret can be a nasty little thorn in our side eh? Cheers, mate! 🙋🏻‍♂️

And yesterday, I just had to be glib about the age you and I nearly share. Thank you for the bloody wakeup call, Jay. … Still, I have been better about it all. About not seeking those moments of reckless oblivion. I honestly can’t say I miss them either. Just the regret, perhaps, about what might have been. In all honesty, cheers, Jay–a powerful piece you’ve written.
