I walk the day
into the night
The white ibis
they bicker
they fight
over there
on the grass
no food left-
under beak
nor brush, or
feathers fluff
ibis wings flutter
amass, pecking
at the withered
grass
order is lost
to chaos and
sass,
Eudocimus albus-
curved swords
clash, thrash
gnash at each
billed beak,
like hurricanes
they pass, to waves
that wade in high tides
and dry grass.
