It is not possible

to capture

the fleeting, the subtle

To capture the racing

the forceful flow

that bubbles over

inside, boundless

forever unyielding

Canyons exist where

my love for you

goes, visits

To trek this land

would be eternity

To lay waste the fertile

ground, unfolding

shielded

No! I cannot

capture this love

for it is too vast

to contain

It runs wild

in its rawness, its force

Be gone forever

into my soul

running side by side

through the mind

Laughing, playing

loving, crying

Never forgetting all

the while

the boundless love

of my child.

If you are a parent, you may understand that feeling that can overwhelm you when you miss your child. Or perhaps, just the sheer joy and love they bring to you that overwhelms your soul from time to time. I wrote this poem after a very long and extended time, living apart from my son, when he was just a wee lad and I was many, many miles away.

Beautiful! I’m not a parent, but I could relate to the boundless love. I could relate as to the love I felt for my father and other family members. Great work :)

Hey nick! Thank you so much my friend! It is a deep and profound love. I believe that is true for some children as well as your love for your father. At least I hope my son feels as you do. Cheers!
