Shakespeare was an insomniac
A maniac, word-slinging poet
who ate his delights, masticating
his sorrows, while feeding our
wide awake hearts
with his poetic desires.
Shall we in return dance tarantellas
to celebrate you and I here
now manic- and sleepless
in this shared space?
Similar fate, to the master
of the sorrowful sonnet
in constant debate!
